SISTAS Membership & Participation Accountability: FAQ

  • To keep the energy of our sisterhood strong, connected, and meaningful. We want to make room for women who are actively engaged, supportive, and truly committed to the mission of SISTAS.

  • Paying a fee helps—but participation matters most. If you’re consistently not checking in, joining Zooms, or attending events, you may be moved to Inactive status after a reminder. We want every member to be more than just a name on the roster—we want your presence, too!

  • Participation includes:

    • Attending Zoom meetings

    • Showing up for events or community service

    • Responding to group messages

    • Interacting in group chats or posts

    • Participating in at least one activity per quarter

    • Taking part in Sisterhood Connection assignments

  • Checking in can be as simple as:

    • Saying hello in the group chat

    • Commenting or reacting to posts

    • Reaching out to a fellow sister

    • Letting an Admin know you’re still interested, even if you can’t attend events right now

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being present.

  • Without payment, you’re not considered an Active or Social Member. You’ll be listed as Inactive and may lose access to:

    • Member-only events

    • Internal communications

    • Voting privileges

    • Sisterhood Connection participation

  • It means we’ll review a member’s participation and payment status and may update their membership level—either to Social or Inactive. This helps us maintain a space filled with women who genuinely want to grow and support each other.
